Simon Phillippo

钢琴系主任。

Simon Phillippo在伦敦大学皇家音乐学院和剑桥大学冈维尔与凯斯学院学习音乐并与2000年获得博士学位。

他曾在英国各地和国外进行演奏和广播，是一位独奏家、室内乐演奏家和钢琴伴奏家。

他是一位兴趣广泛的音乐家，与Matthew Taylor、George Hurst和Sir Colin Davis学习指挥，并在2009年的利兹指挥大赛中获奖。

在National Opera Studio学习一年之后便加入了威尔士国家歌剧院并在那里工作了14年。

Mei Yi Foo

马来西亚钢琴家、英国广播公司音乐杂志2013年度最佳新人奖得主。

自从在雅典赢得2008年玛丽亚 · 卡拉斯大奖赛后，Mei Yi Foo已经吸引了欧洲、美洲和亚洲的观众，她被英国广播公司第三频道称赞为"一位值得观看的钢琴家”。

BMus (Hons) Music：

Performance from memory is advised. You should prepare a minimum of THREE contrasting pieces, making sure that your repertoire allows you to demonstrate the full extent of your ability, and includes music in contrasting styles and from different periods. The panel will choose pieces from your programme, but you may specify one piece with which you would like to begin your audition. You will be asked to play a short quick-study piece which you will be given at the start of your warm-up time.

研究生：

Postgraduate Programmes in Music Performance：

Performance from memory is advised. Please prepare a minimum of THREE contrasting pieces, and aim to demonstrate a range of style and musical character, as well as technical accomplishment. The panel will choose pieces from your programme, but you may specify one piece with which you would like to begin your audition. You will also be asked to play a short quick-study piece which you will be given at the start of your warm-up time. Please supply a full list of repertoire studied over the previous two years.
 

Postgraduate Collaborative Piano：

You should prepare a programme of 20-30 minutes for your audition as follows:

1、An etude or short solo piece of your own choice

2、An example of an orchestral reduction, which could be either a movement from an instrumental concerto or an operatic aria

3、A movement from an instrumental sonata

4、A selection of song repertoire (i.e. Lied, mélodie or English song). The panel may choose from your selection in the audition.

MA Repetiteur Studies：

There are typically two members of staff on an audition panel. The audition will last approximately 45 minutes.

For your audition, you should prepare:

An extract/short scene from two contrasting operas, singing in the vocal lines as you play. Each scene should involve at least two characters and at least one should be in a foreign language. Each extract should be no more than 10 minutes in duration. You may be asked to discuss the opera, characters or orchestration.

A short piano solo piece of your choice.

You should take care to select pieces which will allow you to demonstrate the full extent of your ability in a range of styles. The panel may also take the opportunity in the audition to work with you on selected sections from the works you have performed.

You will also be required to take a short sight-reading test from an opera vocal score, and to accompany a singer in a previously unseen recitative and aria (10 minutes will be allowed for preparation with the singer as part of your warm-up).

There will be a short interview, during which you will have an opportunity to talk about your future ambitions and to ask questions relating to the College and the course.
 

PGDip Advanced Professional Practice：

Instrumentalists should prepare a 30 minute recital programme. The panel will select pieces they wish to hear from your programme during audition. Please note that pieces may not be heard in their entirety. We will provide an accompanist, if required. There is no additional cost for this. You will have access to an individual practice room in which to warm up for 20 minutes before your audition starts.
